Questions & answers ( Q&A)
Which Headset can i use with DiagnozVR?
Currently, the simulator is developed in Unreal Engine for the Android platform and is compatible with Meta Quest headsets, including Quest 2, Quest 3, and Quest 3S.
Do I need to purchase the headsets if I don’t currently own any?
Most VR experiences I’ve tried only last 10–30 minutes. Is your app similar?
I’ve experienced mild motion sickness with some VR apps. How does DiagnozVR compare?
The simulation takes place in a fixed classroom environment, and the machine is also positioned in a fixed location. This design helps prevent motion sickness, especially for first-time or sensitive users.
Yes. We are not providing any hardware devices but you can purchase locally or via the MetaQuest online shop website
DiagnozVR is a full simulation, not a short experience. Students can freely interact with the 2-axis linear pick-and-place robot, access drawings, get familiar with safety features, start tutorials, and use the multimeter to take measurements.
Can the application be cast or projected while students are using it?
Yes. Several casting options are available. You can use the Meta Horizon app on a phone or tablet on the same Wi-Fi network, cast via a web browser, or use a local PC with the Meta Quest Link app.
How does the licensing works?
Multiple licensing options are available: yearly, three-year, or perpetual. Download the simulator through SideQuest. License keys will be provided after purchase.
What kind of faults the student can expect?
DiagnozVR currently includes pneumatic, electrical, mechanical, operational, and controller faults, both individual and combined. More fault types, including intermittent faults, are coming soon.
Is your solution unique in the educational market for teaching troubleshooting in electronic engineering?
Yes. DiagnozVR uniquely focuses on industrial and electrical troubleshooting. Unlike existing digital twin or PLC simulation tools, it is specifically designed for hands-on fault diagnosis in VR.
We have limited space in our classroom/lab. Does this require a lot of space per student?
No. Students can remain seated in a fixed position while using the simulator. Only a small safety perimeter of a few feet around each user is required to avoid collisions.
I’ve never used a virtual reality headset before, and as a teacher, I find it a bit intimidating. What would you say to reassure or convince me?
Using DiagnozVR feels very similar to standing in front of a real machine. You quickly get used to the environment, with controllers mirroring natural hand movements. Interactions are simple—just a few buttons to grab, open, or activate objects. Movement is easy and comfortable, with point-and-click teleportation by default.
How can I demonstrate the value of Diagnoz VR to my institution’s leadership?
Using VR in your labs positions your institution as a forward-thinking leader in technical education, while reducing physical equipment constraints, attracting students, optimizing budgets, and enabling remote training for continuing education.
What are the benefits for me, as a teacher?
No manual fault setup is required. The simulator offers a wider range of realistic failures, supports autonomous student learning in a safe environment with minimal supervision, saves you a lot of time, eliminates post-lab machine reset, and increases student engagement and motivation.
